Murphy Historical Society is a 501 (c) 3 service organization chartered in October 2011.
· The Society is the guardian of three of Murphy’s Historical Cemeteries. Murphy Family Cemetery, Herring Hogge Cemetery, and Decatur, Maxwell, Murphy Cemetery each have a Texas historic cemetery marker.
· Research and preservation of historical documents and photographs is the duty of the organization.
· Historical artifacts are preserved in archival materials and kept in storage until they are shared in one of the three display cases located in the Murphy City Hall near the Council Chamber.
· Membership dues are:
Individual $25.00
Family $40.00
Student $15.00
Supporting Business $50.00
Sustaining Business 100.00
Patron $150.00
· Members support the services of the organization through dues, donations, grants, and fundraising.
· Members are volunteers who support the projects of the organization.
